Happy 1st Birthday Brody!

I can't believe a year has passed.  It seems like yesterday!  Brody has grown so much this past year.  We are so proud of everything he has done thus far.
Brody does not take a pacifier.
He has been on whole milk since he was 10 months old.
He has been walking since he was 9 months old.
He eats all regular foods!  He loves fish sticks!
He loves baths.  He could play in there all day.  As soon as the water turns on he runs to the bathroom and waits patiently at the tub until I take his clothes off.  This is one of my favorite moments!
He loves watching basketball on tv.
He loves to be outside. Brody will sit down if you show him his shoes.  He knows what that means!
He absolutely loves to mow with his mower.
Most importantly....he loves how much his mommy and daddy love him!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY BRODY JAMES COTHREN!!!

Very Hungry Caterpillar 1st Birthday Party

How do I descibe the day....COLD!  I can't believe how cold Brody's first party was.  Last week we had heat advisories and Sunday we had 43 and cloudy!  All and all the day was a success.  The kids did not seem to mind the cold.  I think the adults felt a little different!
Aunt Lisa made an amazing cake!  Thank you Aunt Lisa for my first Caterpillar Cake!  I'm pretty sure the cake made the party!  It definitely made it worth coming to the party!
The planning for the party was a very long process.  I made almost all the decorations.  I went overboard but I wouldn't have done it any other way!  The wind really blew the entire party so it wasn't exactly like I had planned!
This picture is hard to see.  I did a 12 month banner for Brody.  This was pictures from 0 months to 12 months!  I'm very proud of the banner.  I'm glad the lady I had ordered the banner from in April did not come through! :)

The cupcake ice cream cones were a hit!  Thank you Christie Smith!!!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Cake...next to Brody's very own smach caterpillar cake!!!  Thank you again Aunt Lisa!!!

Brody took know time to dig in!  JHe went for the eyes first!!!
 Then the body!!!
Then it was a piece of cake after that!! HEHEEHE!!!
I also made the Brody Banner for his highchair!!
People who attending the party, Mamoo, Papa, Lulu, Leslie, Scooby, Cody, Baylee, Nathan, Meme, Lekis, Brooklynn, Lisa, Casey, Cortnee, Grandma and Grandpa Cothren, Kevin , Brandy, Aunt Mary Ann, Aunt Kelly, Danielle, Peyton, Judd, Becky, Bennett, Brooklyn, Brad, Kelli, Gage, Adley, Paul, Kelly, William, Candie, Bird, and Kenley!  I hope I didn't miss anyone!!!

Brody was not in the mood for presents.  He opened the first ball and was gone!
Brody's birthday shirt that we only saw for a second!

We want to thank everyone who came out for the party.  Brody loved all of his gifts!  Brody got to play with all the gifts once we got home...after he took a long long nap!  Not one gift was more special then the next however; he did love the slide!!  Thanks to Aunt Candie!!  Special thanks to Aunt Lisa for the cake!

Brody finally enjoying his cake in the warmth!

Brody,
Mommy and daddy love you very much.  Words can not decribe how proud we are of you.  I know you would've been the best boy had it not been so cold.  We are so happy you had a great time at your birthday party.  I promise the next party will be inside!

My big helper!

Brody is into everything.  He has to be apart of everything.  If that front door opens he's coming out!  My big guy loves to be outside.  He would sit on the swing all night if I would let him.  Last night Phillip and I tag teamed dinner, so we could hurry outside to finish some yard work.  Brody sat and watched Phillip mow the grass.  As soon as the mower went off, Brody would mow his portion.  He would not move as long as the big mower was on.  It was really cute.  Brody walked up and down the side walk and driveways pushing the mower!  I love that he wants to be apart of everything!  Our little family is so blessed!  We love you Brody!

Mother's Day Weekend!

What an amazing weekend.  Friday night we spent the evening at Mission Days!  We watch Bo and Brookie while Carolyn, John, Leksi, and Johnny went to the Royals game.

We got up first thing Saturday morning to get ready for the day.  We had a very busy day a head.  I had to pack a bag for Brody.  Phillip was trying to get ready for this softball tournament.  I was trying to pick the house up just a little bit.  I hate leaving when the house is a mess.  Carolyn showed up at the house because we we're all riding together.  Phillip hands me this white box.  I had my hands full and didn't realize that it was my mother's day gift!  I opened the book to find amazing pictures of Brody in it.  Phillip really did out do himself.  I of course cried.  Thank you to my amazing husband for be so thoughtful!  I hope that one day our son is as good to his wife as you are to yours.
We left the house with Brag book in hand to show everyone.  Come to find out everyone has already seen it!  Fantastic!!!   Most of the day Saturday was spent at the soccer fields!  Saturday afternoon I worked on birthday stuff for Brody's first birthday party!  Saturday night we played in the driveway for hours!  Brody was walking around as fast as he could.  He's so independent sometimes it's crazy.  He wants zero help and can do everything by himself.  He even crashed and burned all by himself.  Twice.....  I couldn't believe it.  I snatched him up and loved on him until he stopped crying.  I put him down so he could see his daddy and not 5 minutes later he fell again.  I hate when he cries real tears!   All I was thinking about was his next photo shoot in 3 days!  My little man has two big bruises on his forehead.  Poor Baby!

Sunday...Mother's Day!  I love spending time with just our little family!!!

1st Dentist Appointment! Success!!!!

As a first time mom, I can say that I’ve had plenty of proud moments thus far for Brody.  Today was another proud moment.  Brody went to the dentist today.  We got there pretty early.  I wanted to make sure we were there early just incase I needed to fill out anymore paper work.  Brody was intrigued right away.  There was a play area for kids and a big caterpillar.  Brody kept walking in circles around the caterpillar talking up a storm.  He was not sure about the dinosaurs.  I had to walk him into the play area first so he knew it was safe!  They called us back to put us in a room.  I started to worry because I wasn’t sure how Brody would do.  He won’t let me put my fingers in his mouth to look for teeth, so I was scared for the dentist.  Dr. Hemberger was amazing with Brody.  He was playing peek-a-boo with Brody before we even went back.

Once we went back into our room the nurse sat and talked with Brody and I about our routine.  We seem to be doing everything correctly.  We will change up a few things.  I want to start working more with water and less milk at bed time!  Dr. Hemberger said Brody was right now track.  He said he can feel all of Brody's teeth that will be coming through soon!  Brody was so excited for the dentist that he cut his 3rd tooth yesterday! :)
